Mental health resources are lacking in historically marginalized communities. We train barbers to be mental health advocates.

With a pervasive stigma surrounding mental illness, too many young people in our communities experience mental health challenges without access to resources and inadequate communication and conflict resolution skills. We equip barbers to be mental health advocates, provide essential resources, destigmatize mental illness, and improve communication skills in marginalized communities.

Our Programs

We “cut through the problems“ by providing these services.

Barber Advocacy Training

Train barbers to become Certified Mental Health Advocates using a 5-pillar approach.

Haircut Vouchers

Provide free haircuts to youth through barber partnerships and $30 vouchers.

Support Groups

Offer parenting seminars and co-parenting strategies led by mental health professionals.

OUR MISSION

We train barbers to facilitate mental health conversations, connect people to vital resources, and provide voucher-based haircuts to marginalized youth.

Our Vision

We envision every barbershop as a vital hub for mental health advocacy, transforming the traditional grooming experience into a powerful platform for community support and healing.

About Us

We are dedicated to transforming mental health in historically marginalized communities. By using barbershops as trusted spaces, we train barbers to become mental health advocates, turning everyday conversations into opportunities for support and awareness. Our unique haircut voucher program incentivizes participation, providing both parents and children with essential mental health resources.

Through community engagement and partnerships, we aim to de-stigmatize mental health assistance and create lasting positive change. Our motto, “We Cut Through The Problems,” reflects our mission to address mental health challenges head-on, leveraging the power of barbershops to make a significant impact.

How Haircut Vouchers Work

Developing a safe and secure payment system is crucial to the success of this initiative. To automate the process, each participating parent will receive an app-based voucher account.

This web-based voucher system is linked to a master account and can be reloaded monthly with $30. Parents can use the voucher at participating barbershops, with access limited to $30 per month, totaling $360 per child over the course of a year.

Advocacy for Minority Men in the Family Court Sys.

Minority Men in family court are typically not prepared for the one sided treatment they receive in the family court system. Most are not aware of the inner workings of this system and correct proper order of operations. By giving sound legal advice and clear instructions to the minority men dealing with family court issues, we seek to advocate for equitable parental rights for fathers.
